Heesen Yachts is a Dutch ship building company that specializes in custom built superyachts. Founded in 1978, it has launched more than 170 yachts since its inception, many of which have gone on to win awards. It is considered one of the world leaders in the design, construction and engineering of steel and aluminium yachts.

In 1988 Heesen produced the fastest luxury yacht in the world. The 38 meter yacht, Octopussy with a maximum speed of over 50 knots. This ground-breaking yacht was Heesen ‘s worldwide breakthrough into the superyacht industry.

The Heesen Yachts shipyard is situated in the southern Netherlands town of Oss with a separate interiors construction department based in the nearby town of Winterswijk.

Heesen has pursued a consistent path creating yachts with exceptional standards of engineering and meticulous attention to detail. Skilled workmanship is combined with ground breaking technologies and innovation can be seen in the  semi-custom and fully custom long-range superyachts up to 80 metres in aluminium and steel.

 Heesen has pioneered the use of aluminium alloy in yacht hulls, building fast, stable and high-performance superyachts. Heesen ‘s largest superyacht to date, the 80.7m Cosmos, is set to expand the yard's reputation and capabilities even further. 

These days Heesen Yachts specializes in luxury high-performance, all-aluminium motor yachts. Since 1992 the shipyard also builds long-range, steel-hulled full-displacement vessels. Heesen Yachts currently build yachts from 37  to 80 meters.

Recently, a close collaboration with Dutch design studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects has led to further leaps in superyacht design. Van Oossanen ‘s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) was conceived as a concept designed to offer efficiency over the entire speed range, and not just at a restricted speed interval around the maximum speed.

In 2019 Heesen began construction on its largest project to date, the 80.07-metre (262.7 ft) Project Cosmos. Designed with fast efficient cruising in mind, Cosmos draws on several innovative technologies to achieve a top speed close to 30 knots and an efficient cruising speed of over 20 knots.
